GreenLight A Donation To A Veteran

WHAT IS GREENLIGHT A VET?

America’s veterans are some of our nation’s bravest, hardest-working men and women. However, it’s hard to show them the appreciation they deserve when, back home and out of uniform, they’re more camouflaged than ever. Greenlight A Vet, sponsored by Walmart, is a campaign to establish visible national support for our veterans by changing one light to green.

Change One Light to Green

Change one light to green in a visible location on your porch, in your home, or at your office and keep it glowing every day as a symbol of appreciation and support for our veterans. Then, share your support by taking a picture of your green light and posting it using the hashtag #greenlightavet.

Why Green?

Green is the color of hope renewal and well-being. “Greenlight” is also a term commonly used to activate forward movement. The simple action of changing one light to green is intended to spark a national conversation regarding the recognition of veterans, and “greenlight” them forward as valued members of our communities.

How can you help?  Where can you get a green light?

OPERATION GREENLIGHT FOR VETERANS IS UNDER WAY!

Our Community Cares is selling green light bulbs for a minimum $10 donation to our organization.  Your minimum $10 donation will be used to support a vet or veterans program right here in Columbia County.  None of your donation will leave Columbia County.  Chatham Hardware has given us a generous gift of 120 light bulbs at no cost to help us raise money for this program.  If all 120 light bulbs are sold, a minimum of $1200 will be raised for Columbia County Veterans!

Light bulbs can be purchased at Chatham Hardware or  from an Our Community Cares Director.  (contact us on our OCC Facebook or by calling 518-336-5254)

Thank you for supporting our Veterans and Our Community Cares!
